They say that God is omniscient
(That means knowing everything)
They say God is omnipresent
(Everywhere at once)
They say that God is omnipotent
(Nothing occurs unless he allows it
or wills it)
They say that God is love

And when a young child dies of cancer
Or a mother perishes giving birth
Or when a plague kills millions
Or myriad other horrible things
They say it had to be
Because Eve gave an apple to Adam
Six thousand years ago
From a forbidden tree
And God couldn't stop it
So sin came to be
And God's only solution was
to impregnate a virgin
to give birth to a son
who is also God
(but there's only one)
And then let that son
have a brutal death
and rise again
and ascend into the clouds
but it only works
if you pray this prayer
otherwise you'll burn in Hell
for eternity.
