I am truly glad that he is gone, no longer an influence for destruction, but I cannot relish that we have killed him. All those around me today are considering this death to be a National home-run, but I can take no pleasure in it. I cannot wish him well, but neither can I dance on his grave. His life was sad and brutal, and we are soiled now with his blood as well as our own.
