God, being omniscient, knows all that exists,
but the future does not yet exist.
We participate with God in crafting the future,
by taking the materials of the past and working with them in the present.
Thus, free will
(attenuated by factors such as environment and previous choices)
is of vital importance,
as we choose, or not,
to respond to God and co-labor with God
in the shaping of God's intent for ourselves and for creation.
