I am a recovering fundamentalist Christian, a lapsed Quaker, a secular Buddhist, a spiritual Humanist, a proud agnostic with a master's in Religious Studies, and the author of Presence and Process. When I'm not theologizing and thinking deep thoughts, I'm a songwriter and musician.

It's a safe bet your life isn't falling apart.
Ha! Good point Richard! I think I've solved my problem. I found and downloaded an NRSV version in PDF (Adobe) format. I'm going to print it single-sided and put it into a binder. That way, for each page of scripture, there will be a blank page for notes. Also, it will be easy to replace individual pages.
I once purchased a wide margin NASB bible at the Lifeways bookstore in Shoreline. There was no commentary at the bottom of the page and no text notes. Just wide margins for taking your own notes and interacting with the text. Not sure if they still sell that edition or not, but I really liked it.
You've probably already taken care of this issue, but oxford makes the nrsv notetaker's bible which is nice.
