Rich Mullins
Huh… I didn’t realize that Rich Mullins grew up as a Quaker. Or that a documentary is being made about his life. Awesome.
I am a recovering fundamentalist Christian, a lapsed Quaker, a secular Buddhist, a spiritual Humanist, a proud agnostic with a master's in Religious Studies, and the author of Presence and Process. When I'm not theologizing and thinking deep thoughts, I'm a songwriter and musician.

During our years in Indiana Yearly Meeting, we ran into his Quaker roots a number of times, including at least one of his relatives.
I've just published a book about Richard Mullins, Singing from Silence, which goes into the way he described his beliefs to me. He was very broad-minded and ecumenical--I was a pagan. He described himself as a Quaker when we met at Cincinnati Bible College in 1974. We formed a long-lasting friendship. Hope you have a chance to read it! www.candletothesun.com
